Tales from the Square is on hold for the moment. My apologies to anyone reading it (all three of you). If things go right, I’ll get back on track with the novel next week.
I’ve completed one full cycle of Heinlein’s rules today. I uploaded The Sage River’s Grave Return to all the major retailers now (Amazon, Kobo, Smashwords, and (finally) Barnes & Noble). I assigned an ISBN to the Smashwords edition as soon as it hit “premium status”, so they should be shipping it to the other retailers soonish (e.g. Diesel, etc.) Frankly, I’m surprised at how fast the process was — I remember it taking longer last time, but maybe that was my imagination.
And I had to reteach myself how to format. Then the Kobo edition came out clunky, and I had to learn on the fly how to make an epub file. Not to mention, I had to set up Kobo and Nook accounts, because I didn’t have those until this week. Originally I wasn’t going to set up both, mostly out of fear of learning something new. Until I figured out how stupidly easy it is to convert something to epub.
Been a busy week. And I feel awesome at how much I’ve done. Take that Nano blues!
Bloody Rose’s Echo has another two to three scenes to be written, I should be able to wrap that up today or tomorrow. I have an idea for the next challenge story, which I’ll share in more detail next week. I’ll only say it’s in the Spare Parts universe, this time featuring my Geri Montess character.
Wash, rinse, repeat. On to the next cycle of Heinlein’s rules!
