Yesterday was just one of those days where I didn’t have enough time to do all the things I wanted to do. Didn’t help I was on only four or five hours of sleep.
I watched WrestleMania with the guinea pigs to unwind. Got through the tag team championship match, then decided I need to work towards getting some sleep before the day job.
Added about 200 words to “The Ghost, the Vampire, and the Jock.” Yeah, I started late at night. At least I got words turned in, nothing wrong with that. I need to start writing fiction earlier in the afternoon to get my goals. Won’t happen every time, so won’t beat myself up when it doesn’t happen.
And that’s really the key, something I wish I knew a long time ago. Never beat yourself up over not achieving a goal. After nearly 1,400 days of every day writing, I can now see how things average out over the long run. You have great days, bad days, and everything in between. Just the way it is.
Now I’ve had an afternoon nap and made some coffee, I’m ready to add more words to the novel.
